About the Illustrator

Katelyn Miller is a visual artist. She loves to create using oil paint and watercolor.
The illustrations in this book are images of real oil paintings that she has created. Katelyn believes that it is important for children to be exposed to art that is hands-on and tangible. In a digital world, she wants to help keep studio art alive. She hopes that her work inspires children to grow to love the beauty of the world around them even more than she does. As a sibling to the author of this book, Katelyn feels connected to the story it tells. She grew up in the countryside and has vivid memories of the moon, the silver moonlit grass, the trees, fireflies, and beauty of the country at nighttime.
Katelyn has a degree in graphic design, and loves using her illustrative and graphic design skills together to create work that gets into the hands of people.
